Commentary
Found this gem while leafing through a random book on poetry. Who could but agree, albeit with a rueful grin. You haven’t run any Ogden Nash for a while, how about this one?

Too true. And unfortunate that the “sins of the father are visited on the sons” and those poor innocents will pay! In this regard, I’d like to mention that all the religions do try to make people stick to the straight and narrow by putting the fear of God into their sould, with varying degrees of success. Perhaps the ones that preah one life and everlasting Heaven or Hell thereafter are more successful.
I’d also like to mention the various punishments described for different transgressions in the Hindu Garuda Purana, famously brought to the screen in a Tamil film called Annaiyan, which also features modest special effects and an MPD theme.
