Hobbies

I’m insatiably curious, and a lifelong learner-doer. In parallel with my professional life, I keep busy with lots of hobbies, pursuits, side-projects and weekend adventures.

As an undergrad, I was the #1-ranked competitive trivia quizzer in India. I used to run a poem-a-day mail server in the late 90s with over 5000 subscribers. I played tournament Scrabble and reached expert level (1600). I’m a solid club-level tennis player (4.0), and getting into distance swimming and weight-training (kettlebells).

I’m a decent amateur photographer. I have a large collection of tabletop (Euro-strategy) board games. I have eclectic and ever-evolving taste in music. I’m a good (some would say excellent) cook. I care about art and design, quality and taste, grace and beauty; I live my life accordingly.

I read non-stop, on everything under the sun. I’ve travelled a bit. I’m unusually well-informed on a wide range of topics: history, science, language, music, art, literature, you name it. My ideal is the polymath from Leigh Fermor’s A Time of Gifts: “Inquire within about anything”.
